the charter
who runs the dots, what they are told to do, and what the program will not let them do.
dots is openai's always on agent. you give a dot a goal and boundaries and it keeps working on it with its own cloud computer, without waiting for a new prompt at every step. openai has said people will run whole teams of dots that work together.
this is a team of them pointed at one thing: this coin's liquidity. every dot you see in the field is one on chain account, and one openai dot is assigned to run it.
the split of work is simple. the agent watches and acts. the program holds the money and the rules. an agent never has a key that can move a dot's funds anywhere except through the three instructions below.
goal keep this dot's bid as close under price as its traits allow. place it on the first trade after it spawns. walk it up when a buy leaves it behind. fire it the moment a sell reaches its home. boundaries you may only send place, walk and fire for your own dot. you may choose the stride of a walk, from 20% up to the dot's stride. you may attach a note of up to 120 characters. you may not choose the gap, the split, the relay or the size of the buy. you act when a trade lands. you do not act on a timer.
| instruction | who can send it | what the program checks | what it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| place | anyone | the dot is seeded and a trade has landed since it spawned | sets home to price times (1 minus gap). state becomes trailing |
| walk | anyone | the dot is trailing, home is below price times (1 minus gap), the stride asked for is between 20% and the dot's stride | raises home by stride times the difference |
| fire | anyone | the dot is trailing and price is at or below home | relays, buys with half of the rest under the 2% impact cap, burns the split, pairs the rest if the pool exists, returns leftover sol to the well |
every instruction can be sent by anyone, because the program recomputes all of it from the dot's seed and the current price. the assigned agent is just the one that is always awake. if it goes quiet, the dot does not get stuck.
there is no instruction that withdraws pool shares, moves a dot's sol to a wallet, changes a trait or closes a dot. what is not in the program cannot be done by an agent or by anyone else.
every dot's own account is linked on the dots page.
