dots

how dots works

dots is a swarm of small agents working on one coin's liquidity on solana. fees feed them, trades wake them, and every fall in price leaves the pool deeper and the supply smaller.

the idea

most coins have one pool and nobody tending it. dots puts a crowd of small agents under the price. each one holds a little sol and waits for the price to come down to it. when it does, the agent buys, burns part of what it bought, and locks the rest into the pool for good.

the agents are called dots. each one is run by an openai dot, the always on agent openai released in 2026, and each one lives inside a solana program that decides what it can and cannot do.

this page explains every part. the desk shows it happening.

the well

the coin is launched on pump.fun. its creator fees are paid in sol to an account owned by the program. that account is the well. nobody holds a key to it.

the well is the only source of sol in the system. dots are made from it, and leftover sol from pairing flows back into it.

spawning

nothing here runs on a clock. the only thing that makes anything happen is a trade of the coin.

when a trade lands and the well holds at least 0.05 sol that is not assigned yet, the program makes one new dot for each 0.05 sol, up to 4 dots on one trade. each new dot starts with a charge of 0.05 sol.

more trading means more fees, more fees mean more dots.

seeds and traits

a dot's seed is the sha256 hash of the trade that spawned it joined with the dot's number. nobody picks it. the seed sets four traits that decide how the dot handles its sol, and three that decide how it looks.

gap, from 3% to 30%, is how far under price it rests. stride, from 20% to 80%, is how fast it follows price up. split, from 10% to 50%, is how much of what it buys gets burned. relay, from 0% to 20%, is how much charge it hands to the dot below before it buys.

because every seed is different, no two dots behave the same. the crowd ends up spread across every depth under price without anyone arranging it.

placing and walking

on the first trade after it spawns, a dot is placed. its home is set to the current price less its gap. from then on it is a resting bid at its home.

when a buy lifts the price, the dot is left further below than its gap. it walks up: it closes a part of that extra distance, set by its stride. a dot never walks down. when price falls, the dots stay where they are and price comes to them.

firing

when a sell leaves the price at or below a dot's home, the dot fires. three things happen in order.

first it relays. it hands its relay share of its charge to the nearest dot still resting below it. if there is none, that sol goes back to the well.

then it buys the coin with half of what it has left. the buy cannot move the price by more than 2%. if it would, the dot buys what the cap allows and keeps resting with the remainder.

then it burns its split of the tokens it just bought.

pairing

the tokens that were not burned are matched with sol at the pool's ratio and added to the coin's pool. the pool shares that come back are kept in the dot's own account.

the program has no instruction that takes shares out. a dot that has paired stays in the basin with its shares for as long as the pool exists.

sol left over after pairing returns to the well and counts toward the next spawn.

before the pool opens

a pump.fun coin starts on a bonding curve and gets a pool later. while there is no pool, a dot that fires buys on the curve, burns its split and holds the rest. it shows as fired. on the first trade after the pool opens it pairs and becomes pooled.

relays

relays are why a long fall gets harder to continue. each dot that fires makes the next dot down heavier before it spends anything. the first few percent of a drop meet light dots. a drop that keeps going meets dots carrying the charge of everything that fired above them.

the fall table on the desk adds up what is resting at each depth right now.

the openai dots

a dot on chain is an account and a set of rules. something still has to notice a trade and send the instruction. that is the job of the openai dot assigned to it.

openai's dots are agents that keep working on a goal inside boundaries you set, each on its own cloud computer. here the goal is to keep one dot's bid as tight under price as its traits allow and fire it the moment price arrives. the boundaries are the program.

the agent has one real choice: on a walk it can pick any stride from 20% up to the dot's own stride. it can also leave a short note with what it does. everything else is fixed by the seed.

the agent holds no key to the dot's sol or shares. if it sends something outside the rules, the program rejects it. if it stops, anyone can send the same instructions, because the program checks them all from scratch.

what the site shows

the field draws every dot where it stands: new ones in the well, resting ones in the trail at their distance under price, paired ones circling in the basin. the tape lists each thing a dot does with its transaction. the dots page lists every dot with its traits and history. the pool page shows the shape of what is resting and what is locked.

the number in the top bar is the coin's value in dollars from birdeye, refreshed every second. it is the only thing on the site that does not come from the program.

anything that has no data yet is left empty. the site does not fill gaps with made up numbers.

what it cannot do

dots never sell. no instruction sells the coin.

pool shares held by dots cannot be withdrawn. no instruction does that.

nobody can change a dot's traits, move its sol to a wallet or close it.

nothing runs on a timer. if nobody trades, nothing happens.

questions

where does the sol come from. only from the coin's creator fees on pump.fun.

can a dot lose its sol. a dot spends its charge when it fires. what it buys is burned or locked in the pool. none of it goes to a person.

why are some dots bigger. they received relays from dots that fired above them.

why did a dot not fire when price touched it. either the 2% impact cap limited it to a partial buy, or the trade that touched its home was a buy, and firing only happens on a sell.

do i need to do anything. no. there is nothing to connect and nothing to click. the page is a window.
